Membership Renewal FAQ


Q. How much does membership renewal cost?
A. For 2019/20, standard annual membership renewal costs £35. This includes £20 club membership fee and £15 England Athletics registration fee. This is unchanged from 2018/19.

Q. When is my membership renewal due?
A. Our membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March, in line with England Athletics. You can view your current membership expiry date on your Member Profile page.

Q. Do I have to wait until my membership has expired?
A. No. Membership subscription may be renewed at any time – you do not have to wait for your membership to expire before renewing. When you renew your membership, your expiry date will be extended by one year.

Q. Do I need to fill in any forms?
A. No. Existing members who are renewing do not need to complete any paperwork. You can check and update your contact details on your Member Profile page, and we encourage all members to keep this information up to date.

Q. Can I pay online?
A. Yes, you can pay securely online. Click the ‘Renew Subscription’ link on your Member Profile page.

Q. Are online payments secure?
A. We use the PayPal service to process online payments securely. None of your financial data is shared with Quakers Running Club.

Q. Do I need a PayPal account?
A. No, you do not need a PayPal account. After clicking the ‘Proceed to PayPal’ button, choose the ‘Checkout as a guest’ option, then complete the requested information.

Q. Which payment types are accepted?
A. You can use any of the following card types:

  • Visa / Delta / Electron
  • MasterCard / Eurocard
  • Maestro
  • American Express.

Debit cards are accepted if they have a Visa or MasterCard logo.
If you have a PayPal account, you can use any of the PayPal payment methods.

Q. Can I pay for someone else online?
A. Each member must be logged into their Member Profile on the website to make payment. This allows us to link the payment with your member profile, and make sure we are renewing the correct membership. There are no restrictions on who makes the PayPal payment, but you must follow the renewal link from the Member Profile page.

Q. Do I have to pay online?
A. No, you can use traditional offline payment methods.

  • Cheques must be made payable to “Quakers Running Club
    Write your full name and Quakers membership number on the reverse of the cheque.
    Cheques may be handed to the Treasurer, or posted to:
    Quakers Running Club, 56 Swaledale Avenue, Darlington, DL3 9AL
  • Cash payments may be made directly to the Treasurer.

Q. Do you offer Senior Citizen / Junior discounts?
A. There is a 25% discount on the Club membership fee for members over 65 years old. This discount will be applied automatically when paying online.  There is a 50% discount on the Club membership fee for members under 18 years old – but please note this is affiliate membership ONLY; Quakers Running Club does not provide coaching or training sessions for under 18s. Q. I’m a new member – can I join part way through the year?
A. Yes. We apply a quarterly pro-rata discount on the club membership fee. Your actual joining fee will be calculated on your Member Profile page, based on the month in which you join, and your age at joining date. See Membership Fees for details.
