Club Championship Update

Sunday 30th June – Ali Brownlee – 5K

Ali Browlee saw a change in the course this year making this an ideal race for a PB. The weather was warm and sunny on the day of the race which starts just outside Middlesbrough Stadium and finished in the stadium creating a great atmosphere. There was a great turnout of Quakers, 32 in total taking part. Brian Martin gained the full 50 points with an age adjusted time of 15:10, Michael Kipling gained 49 points in an age adjusted time of 18:33 and Diane Vaughan gained 48 points in an age adjusted time 18:45.

2/07/19 – Bridges of the Tyne 5 Mile

There were 9 Quakers who headed up to Newcastle to take on the Bridges of the Tyne 5mile.

The race starts on the Quayside and heads towards the Business Park. The course takes you past the Swing Bridge, The Tyne Bridge, Redhugh Bridge, High level Bridge and the Kind Edward Bridge. The race takes you on an out and back giving a great view of all the bridges on the way back to the finish. Paul Dalton took the full 50 points with an age adjusted time of 29:39, Adrian Colbourne gained 49 points with an age adjusted time of 30:14 and Diane Vaughan gained the 48 points with an age adjusted time of 31:17

A 14K run over moorland tracks and paths near Castle Bolton in Wensleydale in aid of Rotary charities. 2019 will be the 15th year of the race. The 2019 run will take place over the same scenic route on moorland tracks and paths near Castle Bolton in Wensleydale by kind permission of Lord Bolton. The Start/Finish will again be in the same field, close to Bolton Castle car park. Traffic free and well marshalled.

Auckland Castle – Entries still open
Auckland Castle commands a prominent position overlooking the River Wear, surrounded by 200 acres of idyllic parkland, making this a perfect spot for our trail run. Starting at the Robinson Arch, the run will take you past the Walled Garden, into the park, where you can take in its natural beauty as well sites such as the Deer House. At approximately five miles it includes all terrain, trail and forest. On your return you will finish at The Wyatt Gates, the main entrance to the castle and Library Tea Room.
