Club Championship Update

Saturday 9th March – Dentdale 14mile Race

Dentdale saw 15 Quakers flying the flag on a tough 14 mile route around the Beautiful Yorkshire Dales. The route follows a figure of eight, winding up and down the dale taking in the scenic views. First three Quakers to complete the run were Marc Ellis in a time adjusted time of 1:28:33 gaining himself the full 50 points which were on offer, next to cross the finish line was Billy Harris in an age adjusted time of 1:29:22 gaining 49 points and Rob Dent gained 48 points in an age adjusted time of 1:45:08. Following close behind as the first Quaker lady home was Julie whinn in an age adjusted time of 1:50:37. Once completed, all runners were treated to a hot drink, sandwich and cake, what could be better than a reward of cake! Well done everyone!

Sunday 17th March – Thirsk 10Mile

Thirsk 10 Mile attracted the biggest turn out yet from the Quakers with a mighty 38 Quakers taking part in this flat, fast 10mile route starting and finishing at the racecourse, making Quakers one of the best supported running clubs attending the race. The day was bright but chilly for the Quakers however there was still some excellent running on show! Brian Martin completed the race in an age adjusted time of 51:43 gaining the full 50 points, next to come in 2nd place on an age adjusted time of 57:50 was Billy Harris gaining 49 points and Dave Jones gained 48 points with an age adjusted time of 59:18. The first lady home was Louise Trainor in an age adjusted time of 1:05:00. Excellent running from all Quakers representing the Quakers Running Club.
