With no more points on offer for the year, most runners headed off to run in the mud at the weekend.

The fourth race in the cross country race took place over at a muddy, but flat, Fox Rush in Redcar. In the women’s race, covering 6K over two laps, Dawn Richardson finished in fifth place overall in 25:22 followed by Louise Trainor (28:38), Abbie Hull (32:56), Claire Chapman (33:57), Sandra Martin (34:35), Juliette McLaren (34:39), Hannah Alderson (35:56), Bev Snook (36:20), Ashleigh Atkinson (36:53), Pam Barrass (37:05), Claire Norman (37:49), Lisa Reeve (38:25), Helen Clarke (38:54), Sue New (38:59), Alison Hardwick (44:47) and Rachel Grayson (44:56). In the men’s race, covering 8.9K over three laps, Marc Ellis finished in 34:53 along with Dave Jones (36:13), Brian Martin (37:34 and first in his age category), Neil Gooding (37:36), Rob Dent (39:05), Corey Horn (39:26), Adrian Colbourne (40:41), Billy Harris (42:20), David Todd (43:48), Tom Chapman (43:50), Graham Park (44:21), Brian McLaren (44:50), Andrew Dixon (46:50), Jamie Norman (46:51), Iain Clyde (47:12), Dave Murphy (47:24), David Whittle (48:47) and Viv Hardwick (49:53).

Taking place just down the road was the Croft 5K, held over one-and-a-half laps of the racing circuit. Mike Kipling finished the flat route in 19:15 followed by Adrian Cottam (19:49), Dale Chapman (19:55), Steve Major (20:07), Gary Read (22:51), Dave Murphy (23:54), Ian Hart (25:37), James Simpson (26:29), Kathryn Plant (28:35), Kelly Smith (28:50), Hannah Alderson (29:58) and Philippa Rayner (31:07).

Up at Dalton Park for the 10K race being held there, Diane Vaughan finished the fairly flat route in 47:20 9and first in her age category) along with Richard Hughes in 54:40.

Three headed to York for the Yuletide Trail race, on a 5 mile route alongside the River Ouse. Helen Spaven finished the two lap route in 47:39 along with Susan Rigg in 54:10 and Clare Mcgrath in 56:06.

Annette Clarke, Charlie Bogg and Dave Thompson were out by the Scottish borders for the Cheviot Goat Ultra, a 55 mile route taking in the top part of the Pennine Way along with 14,000 feet of climb. On a fairly tough course not helped by it icing over in several places, the trio finished together in 21 hours and 4 minutes.

In the Saturday morning parkruns, Dave Jones finished at South Park in 18:24 followed by Rob Dent (19:26), Dawn Richardson (20:04), Andrew Vernon (20:17), Adrian Colbourne (21:40), Phil Rutter (21:57), Stuart Hardcastle (22:04), David Whittle (24:26), Peter Rowley (25:10), Ian Hart (25:21), Julie Bell (26:41), Elizabeth Kennedy (27:03), Andy Whittam (27:06), Phill Johnston (27:10), Gill Colling (27:20), Lisa Alderson (27:43, PB), Diane Vaughan (27:44), Mark Trowles (28:25), Danny Gordon (28:40), Jo Meynell (28:48), Michael King (28:49), Matt Jackson (28:56), Christopher Parsons (28:57), Paul Reid (29:09), Helen Clarke (29:27), Sally Singleton (30:47), Chris Land (30:54), Paul Ryan (32:19), Gary Read (32:54), Rachel Maddison (32:54), Fiona Dixon (33:10), Alec Cinamon (34:08), Wendy Thompson (38:46), Abigail Willson (41:47) and Andy Walker (43:41)

At Sedgefield, April Corbett finished in 28:37 along with Lucy Bendle (32:46), Gill Wallis (34:04) and Sally Watson (36:55), Stephen Moore ran at Albert Park in 24:48, Helen Whiting did the Northallerton run in 34:01, while Lisa Jenkins finished at Hackworth in 30:03. Further afield, Tom and Claire Chapman did the Whinlatter run at Keswick in 26:50 and 31:34 respectively, Anthony Corbett finished the Myrtle run at Bingley in 26:32, Lucia Minto finished the Glasgow Springburn run in 23:12, while Brian Dixon did the Kingston run in London in 30:58.
