Once again most runners were out in search of points with both league and championship races on the calendar.

The penultimate race in the 10K leagues took place up at Heaton where, despite the windy conditions, the flat route allowed several runners to set new personal bests. First home over the two laps around the Town Moor was Mike Kipling in 39:26 (PB), followed by Rob Dent (39:43), David Matthew (40:47, PB), Steve Major (40:55, PB), Andrew Vernon (41:21), Luke Minall (42:22), Mike Brown (43:43), Diane Vaughan (46:51), Juliette McLaren (51:35), Brian McLaren (51:35), Sue Woodcock (52:09), Jamie Pratt (52:22), Darren Alderson (53:07), Andy Whitttam (55:41, PB), Ian Young (55:57), Pamela Barrass (55:58), Caroline Litster (56:36), Chris Land (57:01, PB), Jo Meynell (57:14, PB), Helen Whiting (57:21, PB), Richard Hughes (58:18), Lisa Alderson (58:18, PB), Caroline Brown (58:25), Michelle Scruby (58:39), Sally Singleton (1:00:40), Phill Johnston (1:02:40) and Dawn Johnston (1:11:50).

Four headed down near Pickering for the Dalby Dash 10K, the latest race in the club championship. Phil Rutter completed the undulating multi-terrain route in 46:18 along with Rob Gillham (49:10), Gill Colling (58:03) and Naomi Dixon (1:20:24).

Closer to home, several runners ventured up to Hamsterley Forest for two races on offer there, both held over multi-terrain routes. In the 10 mile race, Brian Martin finished in 1:08:58 and first in his age category, along with Nicky Thompson (1:25:25) and Sandra Martin (1:33:45). In the 5 mile event, Wendy Noble and Tracey Plaskitt both came home in 52:39 followed by Hayley Wooding (52:45), Claire Hewitt (1:00:22), Peter Cowan (1:03:24), Ruth Middleton (1:06:00), Sue Alexander (1:06:30) and Helen Cowan (1:06:31).

The latest Hardmoors Trail series event took place over at Goathland, taking in a circular route from the village itself.  Karen Dove and Fiona Dixon both completed the half marathon distance, the pair coming in together in 4 hours 6 minutes.

At Sedgefield, Steve Major and Sally Watson finished in 23:54 and 43:56 respectively, Sarah Wilson ran at Redcar in 27:06, Paul Dalton did the Tees Barrage run in 18:32, Ty Hankinson completed the Catterick run in 22:53, while Neil Gooding was first across the line at Hackworth in 20:09. Rebecca Howard ran at York in 36:12, Helen Spaven did the Heslington run in 28:11 and Adrian Colbourne finished at Cotsford Fields in 22:20.

Further afield, Andrew and Clare Dixon did the Sewerby run at Bridlington in 33:34, Peter Rowley ran at Penrith in 26:02. Anthony Corbett completed the Middleton woods run at Leeds in 26:48, while Phil Clarke finished the Blickling run near Norwich in 23:11. North of the border, Phil Rutter and Gill Colling did the Vogrie run, near Edinburgh, in 23:40 and 28:22 respectively, while in Glasgow, David Ledgerwood ran at Victoria Park in 26:32.
