July Achievements

In the 24 hour event at Bramham Park Richard Hughes set the Club Record with a distance of 75 miles. April Corbett was 9th in the female solo category and in the mixed team of 5 Phil Rutter, Sandra Cass, Gill Colling, Wendy Colling and Roy Mcdougall came 9th.

In the Ali Brownlee 5K Brian Martin was 1st in his age category and Diane Vaughan was third in her age category.

In the NYSD track event at Eastbourne Rob Dent and Paul Roberts broke the Club Records for 3000m. In the javelin Fred Tennant, Nicola Arkely and Lindsey Lester all broke the Club Records.

Competing in the ultra distance event of our own Lyke Wake Challenge were Billy Harris, Charlie Bogg, Tom Chapman, Darren Wright, Gary Read, Abbie Wilson and Alex Kiel.

At the local Croft 10K  Kyle Cook, Darren Wright, Adrian Cottam, Jamie Pratt and Lisa Jenkins all set themselves new personal best times. Kyle finished in 9th place, Richard Payne, Ian Young, and Julie Bell were all third in their age categories and Danny Gordon was 1st in his age category.

In the Bridges of Tyne 5 mile event Diane Vaughan was 3rd in her age category.

At the Willow Miner trail race Brian Martin was 1st in his age category.

Lindsey Lester set a new Club Record for the mile at the North East Masters track event.

At Masham in a 6 hour challenge event Dave Thompson won the event with a distance of 36.2 miles.

In the final track and field events at Middlesbrough Fred Tennant broke the Club Record for 100m and 800m. In the 5000m Michael Joyeux, Christian Brown and Paul Roberts all set new Club Records. Steven Johnston set new records for the Long Jump, Hammer and Shot. Nicola set a Club Record for the shot.

At the 5K in Maske Michael Joyeux and Fred Tennant set themselves new personal best times with Michael finishing in 2nd place overall and Dawn Richardson 1st in her age category.

In the Durham City 10k Nicola Wells was 2nd in her age category.

At the scenic James Herriot 14K Brian Martin was 1st in his age category and Dawn Richardson was 2nd in her age category.

Big round of applause to Charlie Bogg and Dave Thompson who completed the Lakeland 100 ultra distance event which started and finished at Coniston.

At the 10k event at Ryedale Diane Vauhan was 2nd in her age category.

In the South Shields Temple Park 5K Michael Joyeux finished in 2nd place and Diane Vaugham was 3rd in her age category.

Lindsey Lester broke her own Club Record at Monkton for the 800m distance.

Dawn Richardson set the Club Record for the 200m track distance at Monkton.

Diane Vaughan set the Club Record for the road mile and Michael Joyeux broke the 21 year old Club Record for the same distance.

Well done to all whether you competed in events or attended the club training sessions.  Well done to those that have been attending the beginners programme and took part in the 200m field session at Abbey Road this week, you are all doing brilliantly, keep up the good work.
