Well done to over 50 of our club members who volunteered at this year’s Race for Life event held in the South Park.
At Mulgrave Castle 10K off road event Marc Ellis finished in 10th Place and Katherine Hackett was 1st in her age category. Katherine Hackett, Sarah Watson and Juliette McLaren won the ladies team prize.
In the Everyone Active 10K, Michael Joyeux finished in 2nd place and Brian Martin was 1st in his age category. Michelle Scruby set herself a new personal best time and was also 3rd in her age category.
At the nearby Aycliffe 10K in hot conditions Alex Kiel won the race. Brian Martin was 1st in his age category, Katherine Hackett was 2nd in her age category and Louise Trainor was 3rd in her age category. Darren Wright and Luke Minall both set new personal best times.
In the Goathland chase the train race. Michael Thompson, Katherine Hackett, Louise Trainor and Steven Major were successful in beating the train in the 8.4 mile race. Katherine and Louise were both 3rd in their age categories.
Down in Hull in a 10K race Diane Vaughan finished 3rd in her age category.
At the Whorlton Run fell race near Swainby. Michael Joyeux finished in second place. Marc Ellis was third in his age category, Billy Harris was first in his age category, Louise Trainor was second in her age category, Rebecca Bowes was third in her age category and Gill Colling was second in her age category.
Michael Joyeux finished the Albert parkrun first and set a new Club Record for the parkrun event in his age category.
In Track & Field we have seen an amazing number of Club Records set or broken and participation in some of the more unusual events during June. At Middlesbrough Nicola Arkley took the Hammer and Shot records, Dan Rowlands the 100m, 400m and Long Jump. Louise Trainor 3000m, Fred Tennant 400m and 3000m, Paul Roberts 100m and Lindsey Lester 100m and shot.
At the North East Masters at Jarrow Colin Smith set the Club Record for the long jump.
In the Darlington Track & Field new Club Records were set by Fred Tennant, Nicola Arkely and Lindsey Lester for throwing the Javelin. Paul Roberts and Rob Dent set new records for the 3000m event.
